Susan B. Young

1921-2007

Susan Belle Young, 86, Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born May 18, 1921 in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Iva Fredman Yost.

She was of the Protestant Faith.

She attended public schools in Morgan County.

She worked seasonally at local canning factories, at the Park View Inn and as a refinisher at Seely Pine Furniture. She had been a homemaker in recent years.

She is survived by one son, Gail "Dip" Young, Berkeley Springs; three daughters, Judy Patton, Connie Shirley and Debra Flowers, all of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Estalee Fox, Berkeley Springs; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William Young, two sons, Gary young and an infant son, two sisters, Vivian Yost and Heletta Yost.

Graveside funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 29 at Alpine Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, with Lay Minister Dirk Hughes officiating.

The Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, handled the arrangements.
