Voters to choose mayor & council

Town of Paw Paw voters will choose a new mayor, recorder and council in the Paw Paw Municipal Election on Tuesday, June 5.

Vying for the mayor's post in the nonpartisan election are Kenneth Crites and Eldridge Kerns, a former mayor and council member.

The present mayor, Julie M. Kidwell, is running unopposed for Town Recorder. Kidwell was elected recorder two years ago, but became acting mayor when Mayor Jeff Palmer resigned last fall.

Palmer, who said he did not have the time to devote to the mayor's job, is now one of twelve people running for the five council seats.

The other eleven council candidates are: Lisa Groah, Karen Hayes, Eric Kidwell, Angela King, Cecil King Jr., Stacy Kline, Steve Moreland, incumbent Rose Newlon, Ed Ridgeway, Julius Watson III and Alton Wolfe.
