Bayard B. Turner Jr.
1928-2007
Bayard Bartholomew Turner Jr., 78, of Western Maryland Hospital Center in Hagerstown, Md., and formerly of Julia Manor Health Care Center, died Friday, April 27, 2007, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 30, 1928, in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Bayard B. Turner and Mary M. Miller Turner Myers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June L. Turner, on May 9, 1994.
He retired in 1996 from O.O. Craig Paving after 35 years of service.
He was a member of Church of God (Universal).
He is survived by one son, Bayard "Lonnie" Turner III, Hagerstown; two daughters, Rocky Willis, Boonsboro, Md., and Sharon Needy, Hagerstown, Md; one stepdaughter, Mary Hawkins, Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Kayla Willis, Kevin Willis, Brian Cunningham and Shane Smith; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Norma Yellott, Belvia Neal, Viola Susan Showe and Juanita Alexander; and one brother, Lee J. Turner.
Services were Monday, April 30, at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Alvin A. Craig, the Rev. Ollen O. Craig and the Rev. Gregory C. Tyler officiated. Burial was in the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
