Frances L. Funk

1915-2007

Frances Lillian Funk, 92, of Hancock, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Julia Manor in Hagerstown, Md.

Born February 28, 1915 in Morgan County, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Lillian Kesecker Fox and the widow of her first husband, Samuel Weller who died in 1953 and her second husband Orval Funk who died in 1985.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Orchard Ridge First Church of God Hancock.

She is survived by three daughters, Betty J. Shipley, Clear Spring, Md., Dolly A. McCarty and Lillie M. Younker both of Hagerstown; one half-sister, Grace Howell, Harrisonville, Pa, 14 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 28 step-great grandchildren,14 great great grandchildren, 21 step- great great grandchildren, one step great great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice J. Weller; one step-daughter, Mae Wills, two sons, Frank S. Weller and John E. Weller; two sisters, Katherine Reed and Lavine Miller, two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great grandson.

A service will be held Friday May 4, at 11 a.m. at the Orchard Ridge First Church of God, Rev. Jeff Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home Thursday 7-9 p.m. and at the church on Friday 10-11 a.m. The funeral home will be open 4-9 p.m. on Thursday.
