Calvin L. Crouse

1926- 2007

Calvin L. Crouse Sr., 80, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, April 23, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.

Born Sept. 4, 1926, in Paw Paw, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Annie E. Crouse.

He was self-employed carpenter.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Middleway.

He is survived by his wife, Francis Helen Barrett Crouse; two daughters, Jo C. Duke, Charles Town and Kathy A. Weng, Shepherdstown; two sons, Christopher Crouse, Martinsburg and Anthony Crouse, Shepherdstown; one sister, June Elliott, Kearneysville; two brothers, Charles Crouse, Great Cacapon and Bob Crouse, Inwood; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Calvin L. Crouse Jr., one sister, Kate Moyer, and two brothers, Roy Arnold and Eugene Crouse.

Services will be Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Revs. Johnny Faircloth and Mary Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Martinsburg Combined Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
