Ervey Cole, Jr.



Ervey Franklin Cole, Jr., 84, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Asheville, N.C., died Thursday April 19, 2007, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born in Arlington, he was a son of the late Evrey F. Cole, Sr., and Edna Horseman Cole.

He served in the United States Army during WWII, The Army Corp of Engineers, and upon his discharge was employed as an engineer with The Department of Highways in Arlington for 22 years. He moved to Asheville in 1964 and was employed by The N.C. State Department of Highways for 20 years. He was a member of the VFW and Fletcher United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Todd Cole in 1992, and their son, John H. Cole in 2004.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Hilda Michael Cole; one step-son, doug Michael, all of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Nelda Cole Furcher, Chantilly, Va., grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 24 at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard with Rev. Steve Combs officiating.
