Lloyd W. Roman
1949-2007
Lloyd W. Roman, 57, of Hancock Md., died Sunday, April 1, 2007 at his home.
Born June 14, 1949 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Lloyd L. and Marguerite R. Younker Roman.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hancock High School.
He had been employed as a supervisor with Rayloc in Hancock, for 28 years. Prior to that he was employed with Pittman's I.G.A.
He was an official umpire umpire with the ASAP and Hancock Little League.
He was a member of the Washington County Association of Baseball.
He was a member of the Hancock Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Hancock Volunteer Fire Company and the Hancock Rescue Squad, Inc.
He played Santa Claus for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marjorie A. Bivens Roman; one daughter, Christina M. Monkin, Greencastle, Pa; two grandsons, Bailey D. Johnson and Christian D. Mokin; step-grandmother, Cloe Keefer of Pennsylvania; four sisters, Hilda L. Buskirk, Linda J. Bishop, Barbara C. Bivens and Debra L. Reed, all of Hancock; two brothers, Larry L. Roman, Hancock and Steve E. Roman of Warfordsburg, Pa. and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one half-sister, Mildred Younker.
A service will be held Thursday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at the Hancock United Methodist Church. Rev. Duane L. jensen will officiate. Burial will be in the Antioch Christian Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 4, 7-9 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and at the church on Thursday April 4, 1-2 p.m. The funeral home will be open 3-9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.
