Catherine M. Lantz

1916-2007

Catherine Margaret Lantz, 90, of Hancock, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Berkeley Springs Nursing Home.

Born April 24, 1916 in Millstone, Md, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Rose Johnson McCormick and the widow of Charles Andrew Lantz who died March 7, 1980.

She was a 1934 graduate of Hancock High School.

She was a mother and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hancock.

She was a life member of and past president of the Hancock American Legion Post #26 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Wulzer of Berkeley Springs and Elizabeth S. Hedge of Anthony, Fla.; two sisters, Grace McCormick and Maude Doll Moore both of Alexandria, Va; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Jean Miller, Marie Kate Bowers; four brothers, Leo Jim McCormick, John Ike McCormick, Clyde Bum McCormick and Alfred Bud McCormick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hancock, Rev. John F. Lesnick will be celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A rosary was said Tuesday evening at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and a service was held by American Legion Post 26 Ladies Auxiliary.
