Richard R. Unger

1926-2007

Richard Royal Unger, 80, of Buckhannon, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at his home.

He was born April 5, 1926 in Berkeley Springs, a son of the late Royal Austin and Mary Jane Mesner Unger.

He is survived by two brothers, Lewis Charles Unger, Houston, Texas, and Don S. Unger, Ruther Glen, Va.; one sister, Marguerite Hollen, Myrtle Beach S.C.; four nephews; three nieces.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Hall.

He was an aviation engineer and a veteran of WW II where he served with the 82nd airborne.

Graveside services were held Friday, March 9 at the Buckhannon Memorial Park with the Rev. Stephen Engle officiating. Buckhannon VFW Post #3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post #7 American Legion, DAV Chapters #5 & 36 conducted military honors.

Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
