Hearing set on proposed noise/nuisance ordinance

The Morgan County Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing on a possible noise and nuisance ordinance for Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m.

Two noise and nuisance ordinances from neighboring counties will be considered separately for possible adaptation to Morgan County at the public hearing.

The two ordinances under review are a Jefferson County ordinance to abate excessive residential noise that is deemed a public nuisance, and a Berkeley County ordinance that designates habitually howling and barking dogs as a public nuisance.

Copies of the potential noise and nuisance ordinances are available at the Morgan County Commission office. The county name on each of the proposed ordinances has been changed to "Morgan County."
