Myrtle I. Holliday

1920-2007

Myrtle Irene Holliday, 86, formerly of Whitacre, Va., died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Berkeley Springs Rehab & Nursing in Berkeley Springs.

She was born September 18, 1920 in Frederick County, Va., a daughter of the late William and Annbelle Whitacre Clark.

She was a seasonal worker for National Fruit Products in Winchester, Va, and also was a housekeeper.

She was a member of the Laurel Hill Methodist Church near Bloomery.

She was married to Eldridge W. "Jack" Holliday, who died August 14, 1974.

Surviving are four sons, Donald Holliday, Dickie Holliday, Danny Holliday, all of Gainesboro, Va. and Richard Holliday of Capon Bridge; one daughter, Betty Heironimus, Inwood; one brother, Eugene Clark, Gainesboro; one sister, Hazel Hepner, Wyers Cave Va.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by three sons, Fred, Roger, "Jim" and Franklin Holliday; two daughters, Nancy Mae and Brenda Lee Holliday; one brother, Gordon Clark and four sisters, Hilda Bunner, Bessie Speelman, Ruby Speelman and Opal Bagent.

Services were Tuesday, March 13, at the Timber Ridge Primitive Baptist Church near Cross Junction, Va. Officiating was Rev. Dr. Ron C. Payne. Interment at the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

Arrangements were by the Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge.
