New courthouse plans to be unveiled on March 6

A public meeting about the proposed design of the new Morgan County Courthouse is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6. It will be held at the Connie Perry Community Auditorium at the Berkeley Springs High School auditorium at 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend.

Lead architect Tom Potts of Silling Associates/Architects of Charleston will show a three-dimensional model of the planned courthouse and will

be available for questions. Architectural plans for the future building will also be on display.

The Morgan County Courthouse was destroyed in an August 8 fire. The estimated cost of building a new 33,000 square-foot county courthouse and a 2,400 square-foot addition for the Sheriff's Law Offices at the Morgan County Rescue Squad is $11 million.
