Morgan County Math Field Day winners

Morgan County Schools recently held their Math Field Day on January 20. Students in grades four through 12 competed in math exercises, such as written tests, mental math and estimating computations and physical measurements.

The top three students in grades four through nine will attend the regional Math Field Day on March 27 at Potomac State College in Keyser. The top ten students in grades 10-12 will also attend.

County winners are: fourth grade--Will Oliver, Paw Paw Elementary, first; Coleman Spinks, Pleasant View Elementary, second; MacKenzie Michael, Pleasant View Elementary, third; Miki Mellott, Warm Springs Intermediate, first alternate; Jackson Aronholt, WSIS, second alternate; and Matthew Summers, WSIS, third alternate.

Fifth grade--Austin Unger, WSIS, first; Holly Hook, WSIS, second; Allissa Guinta, WSIS, third; Britteny Shambaugh, WSIS, first alternate; and Taylor Risinger, WSIS, second alternate.

Sixth grade--Michael Trump, Warm Springs Middle, first; Katie Larue, WSMS, second; Cody Hovermale, WSMS, third; Michael Jenkins, WSMS, first alternate; and Samantha Linder, PPES, second alternate.

Seventh grade--Zack White, WSMS, first; Kelsey Weimer, WSMS, second; Rachel Wurster, WSMS, third; Ethan Holliday, Paw Paw High, first alternate; and Amanda Stevens, WSMS, second alternate.
