Richard N. King

1937-2007

Richard Norman "Kingball" King, 69, of Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Washington County Hospital.

Born December 21, 1937, in Washington County, he was the son of the late William Henry and Blanche Viola Cullison King.

He was employed by the State Highway Administration, retiring after 30 years.

He was raised in the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

He was a member of Goodwill Athletic Club, Loyal Order of Rats, Eagles 694, North American Rod and Gun Club and The Improved Order of Red Men of Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel M. Varner King; four stepdaughters, Lois J, Andrews, Hagerstown, Joan L. Kerns, Hedgesville, Donna M. DeLoso, Berkeley Springs and Dorothy J. Smallwood, Martinsburg; one stepson, George A. Kline, Hagerstown; two sisters, Evelyn Reid, Hagerstown and Retha Kauffman, Chambersburg, Pa.; two brothers, Wilbur King, Funkstown and Donald King, Hagerstown; 12 stepgrandchildren and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Services were held Monday, February 12 at Minnich Funeral Home, Hagerstown. The Rev. Kenneth L. Gibble officiated. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
