Grand jury indicts 28

Twenty-eight people were indicted by the Grand Jury on Tuesday, January 2, the opening day of the January term of Morgan County Circuit Court. Charges included sexual assault, burglary, drug trafficking and forgery.

The accused persons were expected to be arraigned in Circuit Court later this month. At that time, they will enter pleas and have trial dates and bonds set.

Tex B. Simmons, 55, of Laurel Hill Lane, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for first degree sexual assault and for sexual abuse.

Justin Moses, 24, of Dundalk, Md. and Michael A. Vaughan, 22, of Baltimore were each indicted for malicious assault, battery, destruction of property and conspiring with the other to commit the crimes.

Robert B. Twigg. 34, who is presently in the Eastern Regional Jail, was indicted for two counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny, destruction of property and possession of stolen property.

Drug offenses

Raymond M. Unger, 30, of Martinsburg Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for two counts of the delivery of a controlled substance.

Daniel H. Kerns, 21, of Spohrs Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for the delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and conspiring to commit the crimes.

Shelley D. Clark, 44, of Rockwell Circle, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for

delivery of a controlled substance.

Joel M. Largent, 35, of Paw Paw was indicted for delivery of a controlled substance.

Bradley J. Shaw, 35, of Sherrill Lane, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for possession of crack and possession of hydrocodone, both misdemeanor offenses.

Anna Blackwell was indicted for possession of heroin, a misdemeanor.

Fraudulent schemes alleged

Virginia Weigle, 31, of Autumn Acres Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for 14 counts of forgery, 14 counts of uttering (passing a forged check), two counts of petit larceny and for participating in fraudulent schemes.

Sherry L. Reed, 30, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for five counts of forgery, five counts of uttering, petit larceny and participating in fraudulent schemes.

Vernon L. Kerns, Jr., 24, of Susan Terrace, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for three counts of fraudulently using a credit card.

James T. Ray, 28, of Swallow Place, Berkeley Springs, was indicted on a conspiracy charge.

Child neglect charged

Andrew S. McCormick, 24; Diane McCormick, 49; and Henry J. McCormick, 54, all of Thornwood Drive, Berkeley Springs, were each indicted for three counts of child neglect and three counts of child abuse.

Greta Fox, 38, of South Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for two counts of child neglect.

David Kendall of Berkeley Springs was indicted for two counts of child neglect.

Assorted indictments

Brandon R. Neely, 20, of Cold Run Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for domestic battery, a misdemeanor.

Gregory J. Glaser, 24, of Cabins Lane, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for a felony third offense of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and for four misdemeanor offenses — driving while his license was revoked for DUI, reckless driving, speeding and not using a seatbelt.

Daren L. Cain, 37, of Hedgesville was indicted for felony third offense of driving while his license was revoked and for speeding, a misdemeanor.

Jeremy Kesecker, 36, of Providence Church Road, Hedgesville, was indicted for three felony counts of failure to appear in court.

Christopher Whitley, 35, of Concord, North Carolina was indicted for three felony counts of failure to appear in court.

Failure to pay child support

Lonnie D. Hobday, 29, of Berkeley Springs was indicted for two counts of failure to pay child support.

Bobby A. Boone, 57, of Fort Collier Road, Winchester, was indicted for failure to pay child support.

Michael T. MacCumbee, 39, of Netherfield Court, Winchester, was indicted for failure to pay child support.

Titus Myers, 37, of Aurora, Indiana was indicted for failure to pay child support.
