Breeden Sr.

1934-2008

James Elmer Breeden, Sr., age 73, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at his home.

Born May 25, 1934 in Free Union, Va., he was the son of the late Joel Washington and Mary Lee Hensley Breeden.

He was of the Protestant faith. He attended Hancock High School. He owned and operated Breeden's Service Station in Berkeley Springs until his retirement in 2000. He also drove a school bus with the Morgan County Board of Education for 31 years. He enjoyed wood crafting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Irene Barker Breeden, at home; two sons, James E. Jimmy Breeden, Jr., Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Craig Scott Breeden and his wife Laura, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one daughter, Pam Proctor and her husband Dan, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one sister, Betty Jane Waugh, Boonsboro, Md.; one brother, Roy Elwood Breeden, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; four grandchildren, April Rene Breeden, Derek James Gator Proctor, Charity Sue Sullivan and Emily Rose Breeden, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two great grandchildren, Olivia Rian Breeden and Kollin Wayne Sullivan, both of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Bradley Neil Yost.

Services and interment will be private.
