Klein did a good job

Dear Editor:

I’m glad that Sheriff Vince Shambaugh knows
“A pat on the back is just a little higher than a kick in the rear.” Glad he spoke his feelings over the animal problem.

I’m a senior citizen who feels I get ripped off by the use of my tax dollars going to schools. I raised mine – no government help. Now I have to pay for trash pick up and get nothing for my taxes.

I finally got a little satisfaction when the Animal Control got Laura Klein and a start of a shelter. Most would not want that job, yet she did above and beyond the call of duty, and really cared for the animals. In my 25 years in this county, I felt the dogs finally had a chance. Now it’s gone again.

As for the Humane Society, remember they had a deal with them before. My question is, who will “pick and choose” the ones to be adopted out? What happens to the others?

I feel the county is making a big mistake if they let Klein go. Why are they taking applications now? Why not give her a helper or raise? She has done a great job. She was careful to pick and choose.

I hope they don’t let her go over what I feel is a silly thing.
Let’s tell them we want the county to treat Klein fair.

I have three dogs and if they ended up at the shelter, I wonder what their outcome would be.

Commissioners, give her a chance to finish the job she started, and did so well.
