Time to move on
Time-and-time again we continue to hear the debate on the size of the new Morgan County Courthouse.
In just a short time we have watched the vacant lot go from a gravel parking lot to layers of steel to columns of stone and rows of yellow bricks. Just last week we watched, along with a crowd of others, as history was being made when the new clock tower was lifted in place.
There will be plenty of time in the coming year to debate the details of how the courthouse will be paid off, what offices will go where, and where we'll all park when it's done. But harping over the square footage or height of the courthouse now is pointless and only serves to cheapen the progress that's been made on a building that will serve us, our children and our grandchildren.
Since time does not stand still, we anxiously wait for the hands on the new clock to begin telling time.
