Indians drop two to end regular season

The Berkeley Springs Indians received some good news prior to hosting the final two home games of their regular season. The Indians, under Coach Jeremy Horvat, earned the number two seed in the upcoming Region II Sectional Championships and will host a home game against Frankfort.

The Indians defeated Frankfort at the Falcons home place on December 14 by the final score of 60-54.

The Falcons returned the favor on February 5 by dropping the Tribe 67-55.

The third meeting took place on Monday night February 25 with this time a regional playoff berth on the line for the Indians, however Frankfort defeated Berkeley Springs, 60-55, details in next week’s edition.

Washington
Washington had four players in double figures as they defeated Berkeley Springs 87-51 on Monday, February 18.

Jerome Jones led the Patriots (16-4) with 19 points, and Kendall Smith had 18.

Dominique Newman added 12 and Derrick Brunson 11 for Washington.

Kyle Appel paced the Indians with 16 points.

Musselman
Berkeley Springs whittled an 11-point deficit to five points midway through the fourth quarter against Musselman, before they recoiled and pulled away for a 57-43 boys basketball win to wrap up both team's regular seasons on Wednesday, February 20.

Kyle Appel paced Berkeley Springs with 15 points and Michael Kearney added 12.
