Keyser ends Lady Indians 10 game winning streak

Keyser overcame a four point deficit to start the fourth quarter and was able to stop Berkeley Springs' 10 game winning streak by defeating the Lady Indians 45-43 Saturday afternoon.

Berkeley Springs led 34-30 entering the fourth quarter.

"We just didn't have it today," Berkeley Springs Coach Dale McCumbee said.

Sarah Haynes scored 19 points and Casey Solomon 11 for the Indians.

The Indians finished the week with a record of 14-5.

Moorefield
Behind Haynes’ second career triple-double the Lady Indians rolled past Moorefield last Friday night 66-32. She just missed a quadruple double as she finished the game with 28 points, 12 steals and 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Also for the Indians, Solomon had 16 points, three steals and three rebounds. Lauren Schetrompf had four steals and four rebounds, while Casandra Burch had five rebounds.

The Lady Indians received the #1 seed heading into the Girls Sectional Tournament scheduled for Tuesday, February 19 with Petersburg at Berkeley Springs at 7:30 p.m.

If they win, they will host the next game on Thursday, February 21 beginning at 7:30 p.m.
