Melvin C. Davis

Melvin Charles Davis, 79, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born September 15, 1934 in Hampshire County, the son of the late Vernon C. and Rosamond Evans Davis.

He was a carpenter, farmer and a veteran in the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving are three sisters, Winifred Wolfe and Elnora Davis, both of Winchester, Va. and Maxine Racey, North Wilkesboro, N.C.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Jessie and Calvin Davis and a sister, Deloris Davis.

A funeral service will be held at the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, near Gainesboro, Va. on Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Willis R. Wolfe, Jr. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge on Friday, February 1 from 6-8 p.m.
