Heartless
Dear Editor:
On Friday, January 4, David Rose stopped at the mailbox to get the mail, and saw two young kittens coming down the road. He picked them up — they were real friendly – and brought them to the house. We fed them. They were starving.
Later, another kitten came out of the woods with a mouse in its mouth. We let it finish eating its catch and brought it home, too. Now we are the proud parents of three abandoned kittens.
Now that I have told the story of how we got them, I want to comment on the person (or persons) heartless enough to set three defenseless kittens out to fend for themselves on such a cold night, until they found someone, or someone found them, or they froze to death or starved.
Whoever owned them must have played with them and loved them some because they were so tame. Well, now we love them, and are learning to be cat people. They have no mother to train them, so we took them for a walk so they can learn there is more to the world than the trip from our garage to the house.
To the person, or persons who abandoned them, we hope you can live with yourself, and rest in peace knowing they found a loving home, and we have three beautiful little animals.
