Agnes W. Benbow

Agnes Winifred “Winnie” Benbow, 92, of Great Cacapon, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation & Nursing.

Born January 18, 1920 in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Andrew W. and Lioba C. Dotterweich Matthews.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was a homemaker and liked crafting, cooking and nature.

She is survived by three daughters, O. Muriel Pulliam, Lewisburg, Patricia M. Moore, Edgewood, Md. and Kathleen D. Braun, Great Cacapon; one son, George Michael Benbow, Baltimore; nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman W. Benbow, Sr. in 1989; one son, Norman W. Benbow, Jr. and one sister, Florence Myers.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 13 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs with Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith officiating. Burial private.
