Verna L. Bishop

Verna Lee Bishop, 77, of Hancock, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.

Born November 12, 1935 in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Ruth B. Bishop Bishop and the widow of Grant A. Bishop who died in 1990.

She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Christian Fellowship Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Gladys McMullen and Lee Ellen Myers, both of Hancock and Ethel Iden, Berkeley Springs; three sons, Donald Bishop, Hancock, Ronald Bishop and Perry Bishop, both of Warfordsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Nancy Bishop, Warfordsburg and Dorothy Hovermale, Hancock; three brothers, Frank Bishop, Hancock, Jesse Bishop, Falling Waters, W.Va. and Arthur Bishop, Berkeley Springs; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mary Powell; a brother, James Bishop and an infant son, David Grant Bishop.

The family will receive friends today, Wednesday 3-8 p.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
