Dorothy B. Lawyer

Dorothy Biggert Lawyer, 84 of Great Cacapon, WV died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her home.

Dorothy was born on July 4, 1928 in Ambler, PA the daughter of the late Stanley Thorton Biggert, Sr. and Dorothy Stone Biggert. She was a Registered Nurse. Dorothy was a member of the Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church and a 1945 graduate of Sydney Gore High School in Gore, VA. She attended and graduated from the last Government sponsored class of cadet nurses at the Winchester Memorial Hospital in 1948. She was one of just 17 students.

Dorothy married William Henry Lawyer on July 26, 1986.

Surviving with her husband of 26 years are two daughters: Barbara Short Greene and her husband Michael of Tonasket, WA; Yvonne Short Blakey of Nederland, CO; three grandchildren: Collin B. Greene, Gavin E. Greene and Teagen Blakey.

She is preceded in death by her first husband Eugene H. Short, MD and three brothers: Stanley T. Biggert, Jr.; James C. Biggert and W. Thomas Biggert.

A memorial service will be at the Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church, 97 South Mercer Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Robert Osborne. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Gore, VA at later date.
