Mary C. Michael
Mary Catherine Michael, 90, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born June 8, 1922 in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Burton and Esther May Nicholson Weaver.
She was a member of the Berkeley Springs Church of Christ.
She attended public schools in Fulton County, Pa. and was a homemaker. She was a member of AARP, the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 in Berkeley Springs and started the first West Virginia PTA in Morgan County.
She is survived by one son, Roger John “Kat” Michael, Berkeley Springs; two daughters, Shirley Esther Waugh, Berkeley Springs and Ann Lucille McKinney, Inwood, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Roger Michael; one sister, Bernadine McCarty and four brothers, Roy Weaver, Robert Weaver, Thomas Weaver and an infant brother.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 1 at Berkeley Springs Church of Christ with Douglas Petty and Ed Floyd officiating. Private interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
