Charles H. Kave

Charles H. “Charlie” Kave, 66, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his residence.

Born December 24, 1945 in Morgan County, he was the son of the late James Kave and Leona Snidemiller Kave.

He attended Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church.

He was in the Mercant Marine Reserves.

He attended schools in Hancock, Hagerstown and Berkeley Springs High School.

He was the owner of Kave’s Homebuilding & Contracting for over 40 years. He was the owner of Thoroughbread Horses and liked nature and the outdoors.

He was a member of Alderston-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and Republican Executive Committee. He was 2005 Businessman of the Year.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Busey Kave; one son, Charles “Chuck” Kave, Warfordsburg, Pa.; one stepson, Gary W. Spriggs, Inwood, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Kathryn J. Bohrer, Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, Lindsay W. Bohrer, Courtney Bushee, Casey Spriggs and Christina Bohrer and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Kave and James Kave.

Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, December 9 at Hesley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs, with Reverend Richard Craig officiating.

Graveside services were conducted on Monday, December 10 in Mt. Herbron Cemetery, Winchester, Va.
