Ralph K. Bloom
Ralph Kenneth Bloom, 80, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, December 3, 2012 at War Memorial Hospital.
Born January 13, 1932 in Higginsville, he was the son of the late Kester Dent and Lydia Gertrude Snyder Bloom.
He attended schools in Capon Bridge, Hampshire County.
He had worked for the Senior Life Services in Berkeley Springs as a van driver for a number of years. He was also retired from Leon Close Construction.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Alice Smith Bloom; one daughter, Angel D. Bloom, Berkeley Springs; one son, Barry Bloom, Hagerstown, Md.; one sister, Eileen Caylor, Leesburg, Va.; one brother, Kester Dent Bloom, Slanesville; one granddaughter, Codi Lane McJilton and one step-grandson, Daniel McJilton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 6 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs with Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends today, Wednesday, December 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open from noon-8 p.m.
