Teen keynote speakers at international conference
Berkeley Springs High School students Katie Zakrzewski, Aidan McDaniel and Ronnie Stotler were keynote speakers at the November 4-6 International Bullying Prevention Association’s Annual Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.
The three students shared their peer-based bullying prevention interventions and specific projects with around 1,000 researchers and bullying prevention specialists from around the world, said Morgan County Schools Social Worker Gary McDaniel.
A fourth teen from Kansas City also spoke to the crowd.
The Berkeley Springs teens fielded questions from the audience, were invited to speak at other events and learned about other bullying prevention and suicide prevention strategies that they want to implement locally, he said. Zakrzewski, Stotler and Aidan McDaniel are members of the Bullying Prevention Task Force at Berkeley Springs High School.
Gary McDaniel is their advisor.
