Bernard R. Fisher

Bernard Ray Fisher, 91, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at War Memorial Hospital.

Born July 31, 1921 in Morgan County, he was the son of the late George Andrew and Lorna Mae Wachter Fisher.

He was a member of Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church.

He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an auto mechanic and worked in Baltimore ship yards as a pipefitter.

He liked hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy R. Fisher Burke, Bunker Hill; one grandson, Donald Keller Burke III, Martinsburg; one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi K. “Blondie” Fisher on May 2, 2012; two sisters, Beulah Roy and Betty Jane McIntyre and three brothers, Ralph Fisher, Roscoe “Toye” Fisher and Harold Fisher.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 21 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Rev. William Swope officiating. Burial with graveside military honors provided by Tri-State Honor Guard will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 at the funeral home.
