Charles C. Sheppard

Charles Calvin “Shep” Sheppard, 67, of Hedgesville, of died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at his home.

He was born April 13, 1945 in Morgan County, son of the late Edith C. Summers Sheppard and Ernest C. Sheppard.

He was a former operator of “Sheppards Mini Mart” for 20 years. Prior to that he was a paver operator for Potomac Construction of Martinsburg for 20 years.

He was made honorary member of the Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Company in April 1987.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Loette Turner Sheppard; one son, Tony Sheppard, Hedgesville; one daughter, Dianna Braithwaite, Hedgesville; two grandchildren, Jenna and Dylan Braithwaite; three sisters, Louise Souders, Berkeley Springs, Edna Ketterman, Frederick, Md. and Lacy Light, Martinsburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Sheppard and two sisters, Frances Bell and Phyllis Brown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 21, at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, with Dr. L. Jack Rudy officiating. Interment will be held at Tomahawk Cemetery.
