A very good man

Dear Editor:
Charlie Biggs passed away last week. He was a very good man.

I met him about 15 years ago when he served on the County’s Solid Waste Authority. He volunteered his time and his service.

I can still remember him approaching 80 years old, doing recycling and roadside clean ups. He was committed. In many ways, Charlie Biggs was what a citizen should be, a role model.

The last conversation I had with him was only three or four weeks ago. We discussed the proposed development at Snake Eyes Lane. We agreed it is deplorable.

His parting words to me were “We will fight them, Joe.” Still fighting at 85, a very good man! We will miss him.
