That partly burned house

Dear Editor:
For over 25 years I have been traveling on Rt. 9, the Martinsburg Road. For that entire time, a house on the corner of Keystone Lane and Rt. 9, just outside of the Bath town limits on the right before New Hope Road, has been empty.

A few years ago the house burned, most of it anyway, and to date no action has been taken to tear it down the rest of the way. What an eyesore!

I’m wondering who owns that house? Are plans in place to remove the remainder of the structure?

Editor’s note: West Virginia Division of Highways and the Morgan County Assessor’s Office say the building is part of a parcel that also includes property across Keystone Lane. The land is owned by Yost Family, LLC and they could not be reached for comment.
