James K. Bushman

James Kenneth Bushman, 80, of Charles Town, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Extended Care Facility of Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.

Born March 15, 1932 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Robert Leroy and Thelma Juanita Clingerman Bushman.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was a 1950 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of V.F.W. Memorial Post #3522 and Jackson-Perks American Legion Post #71, both in Charles Town.

He had worked, until his retirement, as a machinist with Mack Truck in Hagerstown, Md. He liked hunting, fishing and car races.

He is survived by four sons, Randy Lynn Bushman, Mercersburg, Pa., James Phillip Bushman, Charles Town, Gregory Stephen Bushman, Kearneysville and Jerry Keith Bushman, Hurricane; three sisters, Louise Madeline Keiter and Thelma Ann Swaim, both of Berkeley Springs and Lois Jean Swaim, Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Desiree Nicole Bushman, Lafayette, Ind., Lynette Rochelle Baugh, Tacoma, Wash., Scott Gregory Bushman, Martinsburg, Cole Nathan Bushman and Karen Leighann Bushman, both of Kearneysville; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Leah Whisner Bushman and one sister, Bonnie Bushman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, November 14 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Pastor Steve Dawson officiating. Interment with graveside military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
