George B. Hare
George Byrd Hare, 82, of Great Cacapon, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born March 5, 1930 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late George Bayard and Alva S. Robertson Hare.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a graduate of Baltimore public schools and attended the Graphic Arts Institute and the Maryland Institute of Art, both in Baltimore. He served with the Maryland National Guard and was deployed during the Korean War. He had worked as a printer with the Monumental Printing Company in Baltimore.
He was a member of the Optimist Club in Baltimore and liked travel, photography and model railroads.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet Ruth Gebhart Hare, at home; two nieces and one nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Wynett Hare and Rachel Elaine Wilson and one brother, Edward Hare.
Services and interment will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
