Rheta R. Kerns

Rheta Rae Mellow Kerns, 76, of Hedgesville, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born November 1, 1935 in Denver, Colo., she was the daughter of the late Raymond Mellow and Esther Kathryn Dennis Mellow.

She was a member of the Independent Bible Church.

She had been employed as a registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary Laign Kerns, Hedgesville; three sons, Forrest Kerns, Billings, Mont., Eric Kerns, Martinsburg and Benjamin Kerns, Billings; one daughter, Ramona Tiegs, Berkeley Springs; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17 at Independent Bible Church with Pastor Mark Johnson and Pastor Curt Lowry officiating.

Private graveside services will be held at Central Chapel Cemetery in Ganotown.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Independent Bible Church Missions, 2306 Hedgesville Road, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
