The Berkeley Springs Indians Boys Varsity Soccer Team continued to flex their muscles over PVC foes this past week.

On Monday, the Indians traveled to Keyser and easily dropped the Golden Tornadoes with an impressive 6-1 victory. The Tribe swept the regular season series with Keyser. The Indians won the first matchup 12-3 back on September 17.

On Thursday, the Indians hosted the Martinsburg Bulldogs and dropped a 5-1 contest to the AAA school. Berkeley Springs’ lone goal came on a penalty kick.

This past Saturday, the Tribe traveled to Frankfort for their final PVC contest of the season. Again the Indians showed their dominance within the PVC conference by trouncing the Falcons 4-0.

Zach Wise had two goals in the victory over the Falcons. His state-leading career total is now at 139 goals. He currently has 28 goals this year.

Tristan Poe and Jake Truax also added goals for Berkeley Springs (8-9). Landon Orndorff had two assists and Alec Kidwell and Brandon McCumbee had two apiece. Brandon Krawczyk had four saves for the Indians to help preserve the shutout.

With the win over Frankfort, it locked up the #2 seed in the Sectional Tournament and a home contest for Berkeley Springs on October 16 against #7 seed Pendelton County. Berkeley Springs defeated Pendleton County earlier this season 14-0.

Berkeley Springs finishes their regular season at home this week hosting Musselman on October 9 and St. James, Md. on October 11. The St. James game will be senior night for the Indians.
