Calvern E. Clark

Calvern Elwood “C.E.” Clark, 94, of Hedgesville, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born January 17, 1918 in the Spruce Pine Hollow Section of Morgan County, he was the son of the late Ernest Willard and Virgie Viola Michael Clark.

He was a member of Victory Tabernacle in Hedgesville.

He attended Mt. Trimble School and Bath District High School.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and worked with both Victor Products and Gichner, in Berkeley Springs. He had also worked as a carpenter with Jim Unger. He liked woodworking and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Norma Catherine Risinger Clark, at home; four sons, Tex Philip Clark, Donald Willard Clark, Joseph Calvern Clark and Dennis William Clark, all of Hedgesville; three daughters, Beulah Marie Millner and Lola Mae Hiles, both of Berkeley Springs and Connie Sue Wilson, Hedgesville; two brothers, Ward Leo Clark, Martinsburg and Ernest Willard “Junior” Clark, Jr., Berkeley Springs; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Iva Almonia Rankin Mason and three brothers, Chester Perkins Clark, Sylvester Sherwood Clark and Irvin Clark.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 14 at Victory Tabernacle, Hedgesville, with Pastor Carl Clark officiating. Interment with graveside military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard were at Snyder’s Bible Church Cemetery, Hedgesville.
