New Paw Paw Schools principal to be named

The Morgan County School Board was expected to name a new principal for Paw Paw Schools at last night’s meeting. Long-time Principal Michelle Fleming resigned in August, with the effective date to be determined.

They had six applicants for the principal position. Fleming agreed to remain at her job until a new principal was hired and would help with the transition, said Assistant Superintendent Joan Willard.
The board was also set to approve a new assistant principal for Warm Springs Intermediate School at the meeting. They had 14 applicants for the assistant principal job, Willard said.

Intermediate school Assistant Principal Dudley Cable took over as the school’s principal on August 17.
Former intermediate school Principal Joyce Ott is the new Director of Transportation and Safety for Morgan County Schools. Transportation Director John Gue resigned at the end of June.
