V. W. (Bobby Joe) Clark

V.W. (Bobby Joe) Clark, 82, of Berkeley Springs, died at his home on August 18, 2012 under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born November 10, 1929, in Rowlesburg, he was the son of the late Ralph T. Clark and Viola K. (Michael) Clark.

He attended schools in Hampshire and Morgan County and received his diploma in Morgan County. He was certified in bookkeeping and accounting from Marshall University, Huntington.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was service manager for Mountain State Water Company owned by Max Willberdeen Engineering in Washington, D.C. He was employed for 20 years as a lab technician at Pennsylvania Glass Sand. He was co-owner of Clark and Hottle Mobile Homes and co-owner of Sears Catalog Sales in Berkeley Springs.

He was a member of Alderton-Dawson Post 60 American Legion.

His wife, Beverly Miller Clark, whom he married on March 10, 1985, survives him. He is also survived by children, Kim Clark Brown, Bedford, N.H., Andrew Clark, Alexandria, Va., Travis Clark, Arlington, Va., Cindy Day, Devon Smith, Danny Smith, all of Berkeley Springs, Darren Smith, Hancock, Md., Sabrina Hann, Amaranth, Pa., 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by four sisters, Julia Farris and Barbara Corbett, both of Berkeley Springs, Marlene Souders of Maugansville, Md. and Linda Angellatta of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, David Clark, Paw Paw and Larry Clark, Clearbrook, Va.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard “Dick” Clark.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 36 South Green Street, Berkeley Springs with Pastor Dave Kidwell officiating.
