Indian volleyball team downs East Hardy



The Berkeley Springs High School Volleyball Team picked up its 12th win of the season on "senior night," beating East Hardy on Tuesday, October 23 in Berkeley Springs.

Lady Indians fall to Jefferson County, 6-1, in Regional semifinal



The Berkeley Springs High School Girl's Soccer Team ended their year with a 10-9-3 record after losing to Jefferson County 6-1 in the Region II semifinal on Tuesday, October 23 at Musselman High School.

Little JV Wolves finish season

The Little Junior Varsity Wolves finished the regular season with eight wins and two losses. The Wolves started the first half of the regular season at three and two. Both losses against the Colts and 49ers were by a score of 0-6.

Facing the second half of the season, all 24 players knew that they had to work harder to make the playoffs. They started with a 15-0 win against the Titians in Martinsburg. Next up was a Colts team that had previously beaten the Wolves in Martinsburg.

BSHS girls basketball tryouts

All girls currently attending Berkeley Springs High School are welcome to tryout for the girls basketball team.

Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 5 at 3:10 p.m. at the Berkeley Springs High School gymnasium.

Buser wins fourth consecutive State Cross Country Championship



Rachel Buser became only the second runner to ever capture four consecutive West Virginia High School individual state cross country titles by easily defeating a field of her peers at the Class AA-A West Virginia State High School Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27 in Ona.

Oh, so close! Indians lose to Jefferson County in fourth overtime, 5-4



Upsets happen all of the time in sports. We see it every weekend in college football. Appalachian State beating Michigan and Stanford's upset of USC are recent examples that anyone can win on a given day. And, for the Berkeley Springs High School Boys Soccer Team that day nearly occurred on Tuesday, October 23 at Musselman High School, before losing in the fourth overtime to heavily favored Jefferson County, 5-4.

Solid win

A month ago when West Virginia University lost to South Florida the Mountaineers' hope at a national title shot was a pipe dream. Even the idea of West Virginia playing in a Bowl Championship Series bowl game seemed remote. Then came the upsets. In three consecutive weeks the second ranked team lost. Top ranked LSU also lost.

Indian defense can't hold Allegany

Berkeley Springs' defense had no answer for Allegany's offense when the two met at Greenway Avenue Stadium on Saturday, October 27 in Cumberland, Md., as Allegany beat the visiting Indians 62-26.

"They're a good football team," said Berkeley Springs coach Angelo Luvara. "They aren't undefeated for no reason. We just couldn't stop them. We tried everything, but it didn't work. We were a little shorthanded on defense and that hurt our defensive continuity. If we would have had some semblance of defense it would have been a heck of game."

Indian harriers capture regional championship; Buser wins fourth straight regional



Lenny Roach, Jake Wise, John Mundey, Denny Golden and Stephen Smith each finished in the top 20 as the Berkeley Springs High School boys cross country team won the West Virginia Class AA-A, Region II Cross Country Championship. It was the third regional title for the boys team and one that was truly a total team effort.

Berkeley Springs beats Hampshire County for sectional title



On October 6 the Berkeley Springs High School Boys Soccer Team suffered a disappointing loss to Hampshire County. At the time it was a pivotal loss for the Tribe because it gave the Trojans home field advantage throughout the sectional playoffs. But, it may have been a blessing in disguise as Berkeley Springs went to Hampshire County with more resolve and came home with a 4-1 win and for their second-consecutive sectional title on Thursday, October 18.
