Recent sentences by Magistrate Kermit Ambrose:

Daniel W. Allen, 25, of French Lane, Hedgesville, was sentenced to a year in jail and ordered to pay $1,186 fine & court costs for driving while his license was suspended (2nd offense). The jail time will be served concurrently with a Berkeley County sentence, and he was credited with time served.

Allen P. Sacharov, 54, of East Antietam Street, Hagerstown, was given a suspended sentence of six months in jail for domestic battery. He was placed on a year's probation and must pay restitution of $4,462 and court costs of $186, plus surrender his firearms and attend counseling.

Sentences from Town of Bath Municipal Judge Harley Staggers, Jr. on July 18:

John Daniel Anthony, 46, of 12719 Little Antietam Road, Hagerstown, was ordered to pay $50 fine & costs and placed on six months probation for possession of a small quantity of marijuana.

Two sentenced in circuit court

Judge Gina Groh sentenced two men and revoked the probation of a third during recent hearings in Morgan County Circuit Court.

Daniel H. Kerns, 22, of Berkeley Springs was sent to the Anthony Center for Youthful Offenders after pleading no contest to delivery of a controlled substance last year. Kerns will serve from six months to two years at the Anthony Center and will then be returned here to see if a further sentence is necessary.
