Wilson-Lopp wedding

Lauren Kristy Lopp and Clayton Wayne Wilson were united in marriage on October, 14, 2006. A traditional ceremony was held at Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Dr. Robert S. Osborne officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Craig and Susan Lopp of Berkeley Springs and Kristine Darlington of Des Moines, Iowa. She is the granddaughter of Janet Lopp of Berkeley Springs and the late Robert Lopp, Albert Fauss of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and the late Doris Koehler and Patricia Wise.

CPR course for healthcare workers

Morgan County War Memorial Hospital will offer the American Heart Association's CPR for Healthcare Providers Course. This course is designed for licensed healthcare providers who need to obtain their CPR certification.

The class is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31 from noon to 4 p.m. at War Memorial Hospital. A fee is charged for the course.

Sheriff Ronald McIntire announced on Friday that Animal Control Officer Jason Bowers has been fired.

June 7 blood drive nets 55 units

The Jefferson-Morgan Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross held a blood drive at the American Legion Post #60 on June 7.

Ambulance fee will show up on summer bills



The Morgan County Commission approved the final version of their Special Emergency Ambulance Service Fee Ordinance at their Friday, June 29 meeting.

Newly elected officers at Alderton-Dawson

The members of the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Auxiliary Unit 60 Berkeley Springs met June 7, with President Debbie Fox presiding. Erica Dods reported on the success of Poppy Day and took 150 poppies to Autumn Acres which were put on all residents' meal trays on May 30 in honor of Memorial Day.

Lauren McKee presented the unit with a framed picture of her school project in appreciation of helping to send her to Charleston for the state competition where her project "Respecting our Flag" won second place.

West Virginia backups nearly twice as long at Hancock bridge
