James W. Ladd
James Walter Ladd, 80, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born May 20, 1933 in Metuchen, N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Cora Simpson Ladd.
He was a Methodist.
He attended public schools in New Brunswick, N.J. and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from March 4, 1953 until his honorable discharge on February 17, 1956.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483, both in Berkeley Springs and was a life member of the Readington Volunteer Fire Company in Readington.
He retired as a plumbing supply delivery truck driver. He liked traveling and camping.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna Eisenacher Ladd, at home; four children, Robert Ladd, Phillipsburg, N.J., Jean Ladd, Flemington, N.J., William Ladd, Yulee, Fla., John Ladd, Berkeley Springs; five grandchildren, Robyn Ladd, Bridgewater, N.J., Justin Ladd, Greensville, S.C., Dylan Ladd, Flemington, Eric Ladd and Paul Ladd, both of Yulee and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ladd; three sisters, Madge Gant, Bernice Tarnow and Faye Ladd and four brothers, Russell Finegar, Robert Finegar, Eugene Finegar and Albert Ladd.
Services were conducted Saturday, November 30 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with military honors by the Tri- State Honor Guard. Interment private.
