Paul D. Shives

1944-2013

Paul D. Shives, 69, of Hancock, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.

Born July 12, 1944 in Hancock, he was the son of the late William Leroy and Mary Virginia Kelly Shives and the husband of Doris M. Clingerman Shives who died November 12, 2010.

He had been employed as an assembler for Fleetwood Industries, Hancock.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Hancock and a member of Faith Assembly of God, Warfordsburg, Pa.

He is survived by two daughters, Paula Wertz, Warfordsburg and Britnie Shields, Cumberland, Md.; one son, Paul Shives, Jr., Savannah, Ga.; one sister, Ruth Ritz, Warfordsburg; five brothers, Larry Shives, Warfordsburg, Jimmy Shives and Gary Shives, both of Berkeley Springs, Kenny Shives and Denny Shives, both of Hancock; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Scott Shives; one daughter, Melissa Buterbaugh and two brothers, Bobby Shives and Ronnie Shives.

A service was held Tuesday, November 5 at Faith Assembly of God, Rev. Delmas Bard officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
