School Extra Miler awards

The Morgan County School Board presented Extra Miler awards to a number of school employees at recent meetings.

School nurse Gina Mellott was named an Extra Miler at the June 4 school board meeting. She is currently a nurse at Warm Springs Intermediate School, but is assigned to the county, said Assistant Superintendent Joan Willard.

Widmyer Elementary kindergarten teachers Colleen Stotler and Pam Gloyd, first grade teachers Shannon Brown and Ashley Davis, remedial specialist Serenity Wise and cook/bus aide Becky Harvey were recognized as Extra Milers at the Widmyer Elementary local school improvement council presentation at the May 7 school board meeting.

Pleasant View Elementary fifth grade teacher Jackie Futrell, kindergarten teacher Adam Keeling, third grade teacher Lisa Shingleton, secretary

Kimberly Shambaugh, substitute teachers Mary Hansen and Lisa Osborn and county school psychologist Christina Hare were honored as Extra Milers at the Pleasant View Elementary local school improvement council presentation at the April 19 school board meeting.

Berkeley Springs High School social studies teacher Ron Bittinger, secretary Sherry Reed and cook/café manager Edna Widmyer received Extra Miler awards at the Berkeley Springs High School local school improvement council presentation at the April 9 school board meeting.

The Extra Miler award is given to individuals that consistently go above and beyond job expectations and that are a positive representative for the school and school system. Each individual is presented with an Extra Miler certificate noting their recognition.
