55 Plus Community luncheon and meeting

The 55 Plus Community “Pot Luck” luncheon was held at the First U.M. Church on May 20, with 49 in attendance. President Roger Williams welcomed all in attendance and asked anyone with a birthday in May to stand and be recognized. There were seven present and there was one first timer: Debbie Logsdon.

The item for MCIEC in June will be packaged white rice.

Linda Jones, activity chairperson, announced there will be a group going to the Totem Pole Playhouse to see ‘Leader of the Pack’ in August. Announcement was also made that 15 will be going to see ‘Crazy for You’ at the Shenandoah Summer Music Theater on July 20 at 2:30 p.m.

In June the 55+ Group will celebrate their seventh anniversary since its initial luncheon and there will be ice cream and other desserts served by the activity committee. Everything will be furnished by the activity commity. Fried chicken in June.

Barbara Bailey reminded all that it is the 150th Anniversary of WV’s statehood.

Mary Lynn Graham, Doctor of Audiology, from Martinsburg Hearing Care Services was introduced by Williams. She spoke of hearing problems.

The next ‘Pot Luck’ luncheon will be the third Monday, June 17, noon, at First Church. Will be celebrating the seventh anniversary of the group’s beginning.
